Hamish Guthrie
Hamish is the Managing Consultant of Snowden Optiro’s Mining services. He has more than 25 years of mining experience with a focus on underground and open pit metalliferous mining. His experience covers many mining engineering roles in the mining industry including strategic corporate planning, senior production and planning roles, contract management and estimation, and site management roles. His operational site experience covers a broad variety of environments including gold, nickel, coal and iron ore, and mining methods including underground narrow vein, sublevel stoping, sublevel caving, and surface operations. Hamish has consulting experience in mine optimisation, strategy planning, mine and infrastructure design, scheduling, cost modelling, equipment selection, operational review, and sensitivity and risk evaluation, for studies of scoping to feasibility level standards for both open pit and underground mining methods. He has worked with large-scale iron ore and coal studies, mineral sands, open pit and underground hard-rock feasibility studies, and JORC and NI 43-101 compliant documentation.
Hamish has experience in the following mining methods: Open pit, Underground, Narrow vein, Caving, Open Strip mining, and Hand held methods. His commodity experience includes: Gold, Nickel, Copper, Zinc, Polymetallic (Zinc, Copper, Lead, Gold, Silver) Iron ore and Coal.
